About the Boulder Odd Fellows
A legacy of brotherhood and community service in the heart of Boulder Colorado.
A Historic Legacy
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) is a global altruistic and benevolent fraternal organization. The Boulder Lodge No. 9 was established in the late 19th century, making it one of the oldest continuously operating organizations in the city.
For over 125 years, our members have gathered in our historic main hall to support one another and the broader community, preserving traditions while adapting to modern times.

Our Principles
In an era before modern social safety nets, the Odd Fellows provided essential support to members facing illness, unemployment, or the loss of a loved one. Today, while society has changed, our commitment to mutual aid and charitable works remains as strong as ever.
The foundation of our order rests upon three core pillars, represented by the three links in our emblem:
- Friendship: The strongest bond of our fraternity, teaching us to treat all people with respect and dignity.
- Love: The highest calling of humanity, inspiring us to care for those in need and work for the betterment of society.
- Truth: The standard by which we measure our actions, demanding honesty, integrity, and justice in all our dealings.

Our Role in the Community
Beyond our fraternal bonds, the Boulder Odd Fellows are dedicated to civic engagement. We maintain our historic lodge building not just as a meeting place for members, but as a vital cultural venue for the city. By hosting concerts, community meetings, and private events, we ensure that our space remains a vibrant hub of activity.
Our charitable efforts focus on local needs, supporting educational initiatives, assisting families in distress, and contributing to various community organizations.
